THE APPLICATION PROCESS |

| Potential adoptive parents are provided with information as well as the initial application forms, which may be submitted to begin the formal application process. After initial application materials are received, ABC begins to gather background information, explore adoption expectations, and discuss the applicant's openness towards being in contact with birth parents. Potential adoptive parents have every opportunity to further clarify their understanding of the process of adopting thought ABC For Adoption Agency. All materials and information to facilitate a positive adoption experience are provided by the agency. Potential adoptive parents are encouraged to explore and define their personal adoption expectations. ABC encourages potential adoptive parents accepted into the ABC traditional domestic adoption program, to use the home study conducted by ABC in conjunction with any other legal adoption resource. Once accepted into ABC's domestic program, potential adoptive parents may pursue a broad range of adoption opportunities, inside and outside the ABC system. Through design, we maintain a limited number of applicants. This is to ensure that our potential parents receive high quality personal service. ABC will continue to be small enough to that every applicant and every client can receive personal attention and service. | |||||||||||||||||
| Through the ABC program financial assistance is available. Financial assistance, among other things, takes into account a couple's individual income, assets and dependents in the home. The result of financial assistance are reduced placement fees to families adopting through ABC For Adoption. Ultimately, all financial aid is determined by the Board and is made available at the Board's discretion. | |||||||||||||||||

ABC's professional staff knows what it takes to actively reach out and provide services to birth parents who are considering an adoption plan for their child. | |||||||||||||||||
| ABC will never instill false hopes. There are never guarantees that adopting a child will be easy or that an adoption will ever occur. There is no entitlement to adoption. Adopting a child is a privilege, never to be taken for granted. Though ABC cannot guarantee an adoptive placement, no domestic adoption organization can, we can guarantee that its staff will be considerate, responsive and accountable. We will fully support the goal of bringing children into the lives of our potential adoptive parents. When we are successful in placing a child for adoption we consider it a privilege and a miracle. | |||||||||||||||||
